Nick Valaoras has represented employers and workers' compensation insurance carriers in evidentiary and appellate hearings before the North Carolina Industrial Commission, North Carolina Court of Appeals and North Carolina Supreme Court since 1992.
Nick has experience in handling traumatic injury by accident cases, occupational disease, repetitive motion disorders, asbestosis, and permanent-total disability claims.
Nick has also served as a mediator in Industrial Commission cases.
Representative Matters
- Nick has obtained favorable results for defendants at mediations and in litigation before the Industrial Commission and Court of Appeals. He received a favorable decision from the Court of Appeals in Vaughn v. Insulating Services and was co-counsel in Phillips v. U.S. Air which was successfully litigated at the North Carolina Supreme Court.

- Nick has spoken on various workers' compensation topics at the 2004 North Carolina Association of Municipal Attorneys Conference.
